US-based pharmaceutical company Verseon has announced that the company’s subsidiary BlockRules will utilize blockchain technology to create a securities exchange, conducting the “sale, launch and trading of securities on a public blockchain”. Verseon, which is traded on the London Stock Exchange with a market cap of $277M, operates a drug discovery platform, and has stated that the new platform will “change the way new medicines and other life-science innovations are funded and how the resulting proceeds are shared”.
