Cryptocurrency exchange has removed the analytics tool StatCounter from its platform after a security breach was reported by ESET, a cybersecurity firm. The exchange has stated that it had scanned the tool with 56 antivirus products afterwards, without unveiling any malicious codes. With the alleged suspicious behavior, the traffic tracker was removed as a precaution. ESET had warned that hackers had breached the tool by modifying the JavaScript code on each page of the website. The result would be to modify destination addressed to the hackers’ own address, stealing any tokens that are being transferred.
