Zcash (ZEC) founder and CEO Zooko Wilcox has stated that he is not concerned about the U.S government attempting to de-anonymize ZEC or XMR transactions.

Wilcox made this comment in response to a question regarding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) looking into performing forensic analysis on privacy coins such as ZEC and XMR.

Wilcox has noted that the DHS has itself noted that privacy is desirable for these technologies – although not when used for illegal acts – and that “encryption may be required in blockchains/ cryptocurrencies… to protect users” in the near future.
